OZH Meet: Aug 23
This evening in particular was quite chilly, which made it feel like a reminder that the summer season is slowly nearing an end… Since we only have a few more hot summer days left for this year, I try to come out to as many meets as I can to hang out with friends, take some photos, and actually drive my car. I haven’t made an effort to drive the CSX as much as I’d like too, so having these car meets is a great excuse to go and enjoy the car and to get outside, especially after work when it is so easy to just stay at home.
As we’re nearing the tail end of summer, the sun is also setting much earlier. I’ve been shooting APS-C and the low lighting has been making me really feel the need to upgrade to full frame… It most likely the noob in me, but the low light performance from an APS-C just doesn’t quite cut it… anyhow, enjoy some snaps from the August 23 Outcome Zero Hour evening meet up.
Issac’s 4th gen 4Runner and Simpson’s Integra Type R.
Tommy’s EK Civic
Mike’s Civic and Tony’s CSX.
Legit Honda NSX Type R made an appearance that night.
It’s already pretty rare to see a NSX now, but seeing a real NSX NA2 Type R is a treat.
It’s quite unassuming looking in my opinion, especially if you don’t actually know what this car is… I personally can’t comment on production numbers, but from my knowledge, Honda made less than 900 units of the NA2 NSX, and I believe that less than half of those were Type R variants…
RHD MK5 Golf on some interesting wheels. Pretty cool design.
RHD BMW E91 3 series wagon sitting on SSR Type C’s.
I think this is a Mitsubishi Panjero, but a non Evolution? Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
Clean Subaru GC8 WRX STi. The rally style side mirrors caught my eye first which I thought were rad. Not sure what brand they are.
Xavier’s S-Class on Junction Produce Scara wheels.
Well done retrofitted headlight.
Mitsubishi Galant wagon. I think this was probably the first time I’ve seen one in person.
Josh’s Cayenne looking tall and wide.
Kanji’s BRZ and Errol’s GR86 and Jackie’s NSX lurking in the background.
Nelson’s RSX.
Brandon’s RSX parked beside Jamie’s (not Brandon’s) RSX. I wish I got a shot of Jamie’s windshield banner, but it says “Not BLai”. It seems that many people have mistake Jamie for Brandon on the road…
Accord with a popped hood…
Comptech supercharged J30… We don’t see this chassis modified that often as I don’t believe that the Honda J series engines were as responsive to bolt-on compared to Honda’s other engines, like the K series for example. These chargers also only make about a 60-65 HP increase, which is relatively mild - however it’s said that the factory transmission was the limiting factor of higher output… Regardless, it’s cool to see someone putting love into a less common platform.
Started getting dark quick so I tried to capture as many cars as I could in less photos…
Bryant’s recently finished Varis Arising II Release Series 1.0 FR-S. I know he’s been waiting all summer to get the body kit painted and installed so it’s great to see him driving it lots and enjoying the fruits of his labour.
Bill’s Nissan S15 Silvia with Scott’s Boost Blue FK8.
Dave’s Spoon themed DC2 Integra Type R along with Jonathan’s S2000.
The Honda fit crew.
Adrian’s EJ Civic and Vince’s K-swapped Honda Fit.
Angus’s AMG GT R
Alex’s Nissan GTR
I love the green shade in this colour shifting vinyl wrap.
Kudos to the Zero Outcome Hour team for consistently putting in the time and effort to promote our local car culture. These meets always turn out to be an enjoyable evening catching up with friends and making new ones. Until the next one.
