Streets of Long Beach ‘22: P2
Today was the start of the event, mainly consisting of practice for the drivers, warm-ups and then later in the evening, qualifiers. The event grounds also had many event sponsor booths and vendors. I got up first thing to line up to get our passes for the weekend.
The line up for passes were right along the road where the drivers would line up to enter the track.
Jhonnattan Castro’s Rocket Bunny GR86 built by Papadakis Racing. Waiting in line to get some warm-up laps in.
Rad Dan’s MK4 Supra waiting in line. I could be completely wrong but I think Dan was one of the first in North America to get the new Limited edition Arms Gray coloured Gram Light 57CRs from Rays for his Supra.
Line-up starting to get longer… One thing I loved about this venue was how colourful the city was. It made for an excellent backdrop and was just so interesting as there was always something that would catch your eye.
Daniel Stuke’s Nissan S15 of Mspek Performance looking so good.
Essa’s M3. I mean, just look at how fun those condos look in the back. The big leafy palms too…
Another of Essa’s car from the front view.
Cash Racing’s E46 driven by Johnathan Hurst. Just look at how wide the front track needs to be on these cars need to be to achieve those insane steering angles.
Ken Gushi’s A90 Supra of Three’s Racing.
Gram Light 57XRs on Wataru Masuyama’s Silvia.
Advan TC-4’s for Yves Meyer’s FRS.
Probably the most interesting car in the lineup was Darren Kelly’s Twin supercharged V12 Aston Martin Vantage, and arguably the best looking formula drift car…
I mean look at this Aston Martin doing non-typical Aston Martin things. How cool.
Cars filtering through the queue…
That concludes part two. Part three will have some drifting and will also will take a look on the event grounds itself.
